What each one actually is
A shayari image is your couplet rendered as pixels — white text over a gradient or a photo, made in a free online generator or screenshotted from somewhere. Once it is a JPEG, the words are no longer words; they are part of a picture.
A shayari link is a page. The couplet is real text on a web page you made, usually alongside a name, some photos and a few more lines. You send the URL, and the other person taps it.

Where the image wins, honestly
- It is free. Not "free tier" free — actually free, forever, with no account.
- It is instant. Fifteen seconds from opening a generator to sending.
- It appears without being opened. In a chat and on a status, the image just shows up. No tap, no loading, no decision.
- It is the native format of a status. WhatsApp status and Instagram stories are picture surfaces. A link there is a foreign object.
- It works on a bad connection and a cheap phone. Once downloaded, it is offline forever.
- It survives being forwarded. Which is a strength when you want the line to travel.

Where the image loses
- It goes into the gallery. WhatsApp saves it with every other forward. Nobody has ever scrolled back through that folder looking for one couplet.
- It compresses. Chat apps recompress on send, and Devanagari is the worst case — matras and conjuncts blur first. Try it: send this as a JPEG and then read the matras at arm's length.
- The text is not text. It cannot be selected, copied, searched or translated. If she wants to send your line to someone, she has to retype it.

- The Devanagari stays sharp. Real text at any zoom, on any screen size, selectable and copyable.
- It can hold a name. Not printed on a background — structurally. The page opens on her name, counts her years, holds her photos. It cannot be forwarded to anyone else because it would be wrong for them.
- It holds more than two lines. A couplet, five more lines, twelve photos and a closing dedication in one place, in an order you chose.
