A Website for My Brother: Build a 'Player 2' Game Page

Make a website for your brother that plays like a retro arcade game — his stats, memory levels, a co-op boss fight. What to write, real steps, ₹79.

He'll play it twice. He won't admit it.

Player 2 — For My Brother

₹79

A retro arcade game about your brother — he inserts a coin, sees himself as Player 2 with stats you write (protective: MAX), clears memory levels on a pixel map and beats the BAD DAYS boss in co-op.

TL;DR

A website for your brother is one private page that opens from a link — but brothers don't do greeting cards, so Lovely's Player 2 template makes it a retro arcade game. He inserts a coin, sees himself as Player 2 with stats you wrote, taps through memory levels on a pixel world map, fights a boss called BAD DAYS until you join in co-op, and ends on a CONTINUE? screen that counts down to ∞. About five minutes to build, ₹79 one-time, no app or account on his side. Below: what to write on every screen.

The brother problem

Ask anyone what they'd say to their brother if they were being honest and they'll tell you something lovely. Ask them to type it into WhatsApp and they'll send "😂👊" instead.

That's not a character flaw; it's the operating system. Most brothers — and most siblings writing to brothers — run on teasing, and a straight sincere message breaks the rules of the relationship. He doesn't know where to look. He replies "bro you ok?". Moment over.

A game solves it because it gives the sincerity a costume. He's tapping buttons and reading stat bars; the line "you took the blame for me. i still owe you." arrives as dialogue in a level, and he can feel it without having to respond to it. That's the whole design idea of Player 2.

What the game actually does

Five screens. Write for each one.

  1. Insert coin. A neon sunset title screen — "PLAYER 2, a game about my brother" — with a 1UP and HI-SCORE bar at the top. He taps the coin slot to start.
  2. Select player. You're P1, he's P2. His portrait is framed in blinking corners, and under it are stat bars you write: the defaults are "protective MAX", "annoying 9", "steals my fries 10", "shows up anyway MAX" and "advice quality 6". You choose 2 to 5 stats.
  3. World map. "The story so far." A pixel board with levels to tap — LIVES are set to ∞. Each level opens a game-style dialog box with one memory, like "lvl 2 · the cover-up — you took the blame for me. i still owe you." You choose 2 to 6 levels.
  4. Boss fight. BAD DAYS, a grumpy storm cloud. He hits ATTACK to fire hearts at it. After three hits, "PLAYER 2 HAS JOINED!" flashes, a second character joins, and every tap does co-op ×3 damage until the K.O.: "every boss is easier in co-op."
  5. Continue? A countdown from 9 that glitches to ∞ instead of zero, next to a photo of you two: "brother by blood or by choice — you're my player 2 for life. — P1". Then "play again".

Every word is editable, plus both portraits and the final photo.

Writing his stats (the funniest screen)

The stat screen is where you earn the right to be sincere later. The formula: mix two roasts with two compliments, and make one compliment look like a roast.

| Stat | Value | What it's doing | | --- | --- | --- | | protective | MAX | Compliment, stated as a fact | | steals my fries | 10 | Roast, specific | | advice quality | 6 | Roast that's secretly affectionate | | shows up anyway | MAX | The real compliment, disguised |

Ideas to steal: "replies to texts 2", "Mummy's favourite (disputed) 8", "gym talk 11", "drives me to the airport MAX", "fake-angry 10", "remembers my exam dates MAX". Keep stat names under about four words so they fit the bar.

Writing the levels (the part that matters)

Each level has a short title and one line. The defaults show the shape:

  • lvl 1 · spawn point — "you showed up and the game got harder. and way more fun."
  • lvl 2 · the cover-up — "you took the blame for me. i still owe you."
  • lvl 3 · 2am calls — "you picked up. every single time."
  • lvl 4 · still here — "still my first call. still annoying."
  • Bonus levels you can switch on: "side quest — you let go of my cycle and didn't tell me. i didn't fall." and "new city — different cities. same team."

Rules for yours:

  • Titles are nouns, lines are verbs. "the cover-up" / "you took the blame." He reads the title, then the thing he did.
  • One memory per level, under fifteen words. It's a dialog box, not a letter.
  • Go in order. Childhood first, adult last. The map reads as "the story so far".
  • End each line flat. No exclamation marks. "you picked up. every single time." is more powerful because it's understated.

Need material? Bhai shayari in Hindi has 70 lines split by bada bhai, chhota bhai and the cousin who's really a brother — any of them can be cut down to a level.

The final screen

The CONTINUE? countdown is the emotional beat of the whole game, so the photo and line matter most here.

  • Photo: one of you together, ideally old. The two of you on a scooter in Lucknow, or that photo from a train to Jammu where he's asleep on your shoulder.
  • Line: keep "brother by blood or by choice" if he's a cousin or a chosen bhai. If he's your actual brother, you can change it to anything — but "you're my player 2 for life" is hard to beat.
  • Sign-off: "— P1" is perfect. Or swap in whatever he calls you.

The steps

  1. Open the Player 2 template and tap create. Sign-in is email or Google.
  2. Change the names on the select screen and upload both portraits.
  3. Write the stats, using the stepper to choose how many.
  4. Write the levels, using the second stepper for how many.
  5. Swap the final photo and line.
  6. Play it through on your phone. Fight the boss yourself. It's oddly satisfying.
  7. Pay ₹79 once — UPI, card or netbanking via Razorpay — and copy the link or QR code.
  8. Send it as "bet you can't beat this." Nothing else.

Honest cost table

| Route | Upfront | Recurring | Time | Plays on his phone | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Player 2 on Lovely | ₹79 one-time | ₹0 | ~5 min | Yes | | Custom domain add-on | +₹100 one-time | ₹0 | +2 min | Yes | | Code a game yourself | ₹0 | ₹0 | Several weekends | If you make it responsive | | Website builder | ₹0–500 | ₹250–800/month | 2–4 hours | Usually, but no game | | Gadget gift | ₹1,000+ | — | Shopping time | Not applicable |

If you can code, building him a game from scratch is a genuinely brilliant gift and you should. The comparison of digital gifts for a sister or brother lays out every other route, including what each is bad at.

Which brother is this for?

  • Bada bhai: lean on "protective MAX" and a level about a time he saved you. He has probably never been thanked for it directly.
  • Chhota bhai: flip it — the stats roast him harder, and the final line is the protective one.
  • Cousin or brother-in-law: leave "by blood or by choice" untouched.
  • The friend who's your bhai: this is where it's strongest. Brother from another mother quotes are written for him, and any of them makes a good level.

What NOT to do

  • Don't make every stat a compliment. He'll think someone hacked your phone.
  • Don't write paragraphs in the levels. Dialog boxes are short for a reason.
  • Don't use only recent photos. The P2 portrait can be current; the final photo should be old.
  • Don't explain the game in your message. Let him discover the coin slot himself.

When a text is the wrong format

There's a version of "thank you for everything, bhai" you'll never send as a text because it'll feel weird for both of you. A game is a way to send it anyway — wrapped in a pixel boss fight, where saying "every boss is easier in co-op" is a game line and also, very much, not.

"Brother pages get played far more than once," says Lovely's founder. "We think people go back to the boss fight. Then they go back to the last screen and just look at it."

If it's his birthday, send a line from the birthday wishes for brother bank with the link. And if you just want to thank him, the thank you message for brother bank is sorted by what he actually did. Have a sister too? A website for my sister is the quieter, tin-can-telephone version of this page.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a website for my brother without coding?

Use a ready-made template. On Lovely you pick the Player 2 template, tap any text on the preview to rewrite it, upload his photo and yours, and publish. It takes about five minutes and you get a shareable link and QR code immediately.

What should I put on a website for my brother?

Things he can't argue with: stats that roast and praise him at the same time, three or four memories written as one-line game levels, and a final line that says what you never say out loud. Brothers accept sincerity much more easily when it arrives inside a joke.

How much does a brother website cost in India?

Lovely's Player 2 template is ₹79 one-time, paid by UPI, card or netbanking. Hosting is included, there is no subscription and the link keeps working. A custom domain is an optional ₹100 add-on.

Does my brother need to download anything to play it?

No. It opens in any phone or laptop browser from WhatsApp, Instagram or SMS. There is no app, no account and nothing to install — he taps the link and drops the coin.

Can I make it for a cousin or a friend I call bhai?

Yes. The ending reads "brother by blood or by choice — you're my player 2 for life", so it fits a cousin, a brother-in-law or the friend who has been your bhai since school without changing a word.
