TL;DR

Fifty thank-you paragraphs for your girlfriend, copy and paste, organized by what you are actually thanking her for rather than by length: one specific thing, a hard season she carried you through, putting up with you, the invisible work nobody thanks her for, who she is with other people, and short ones for a Wednesday with no occasion. Tap any line to copy it. Every line is original, and the closing section is the longest one on this page because personalizing a thank-you is not the same job as personalizing a love note — it needs a real detail or it is just manners.

Gratitude is harder to dismiss than romance

Here is why this page exists as a separate thing from a love-paragraph bank.

A love paragraph is about how you feel. Feelings can be doubted, deflected, or received as a mood you happened to be in. A thank-you paragraph is about something she did — and evidence is much harder to wave away than sentiment.

This matters most with the person who is quietly carrying things. If she is the one who remembers, plans, notices and absorbs, what she is short of is not affection. It is confirmation that the work is visible. A message that names one specific thing she did is that confirmation, and it does something a hundred "I love you"s do not.

The formula behind all fifty lines below:

  1. The thing. Specific, dated where possible. Not "you're always there for me" — "you sat with me on Thursday".
  2. The effect. What it did to your week, your head, your ability to sleep. This is the half everyone skips.

If you want the version about how you feel rather than what she did, love paragraphs for her is that bank. If you are writing to him instead, appreciation paragraphs for him is the companion to this page.

For one specific thing she did (1–10)

The highest-value section on this page. Pick the closest one and swap in your actual Thursday.

For a hard season she carried you through (11–18)

For putting up with me (19–26)

For the unglamorous work nobody thanks her for (27–35)

The section with the highest hit rate. Almost none of this has ever been said to her out loud.

For who she is with other people (36–41)

When the thank-you is also an apology (42–45)

Short ones for a Wednesday (46–50)

No occasion attached. This is when it counts most, because it cannot be explained away as part of a birthday.

Make it yours: the four edits, in order of how much they matter

This is the longest section on the page for a reason. A love note survives being slightly generic — a thank-you does not. If she cannot tell which Thursday you mean, you have sent her manners rather than gratitude.

Edit 1 — replace the placeholder with the actual event. Every paragraph above has one deliberately general phrase. This edit is not optional; the others are improvements.

  • "you sat with me on Thursday" → "you sat with me on the Thursday after the interview"
  • "a difficult stretch" → "the six weeks after your dad's diagnosis"
  • "the call you made on my behalf" → "the call to the landlord about the boiler"
  • "the food you brought over" → "the rice and the terrible garlic bread you brought at ten at night"

Edit 2 — add the effect. The thing without the effect is a report; the thing with the effect is a thank-you. Add a clause starting with and it meant or because.

  • "…and I slept properly for the first time in a week."
  • "…because I had been quietly dreading that call since Tuesday."
  • "…and it stopped a bad week from becoming a bad month."

Edit 3 — remove one compliment. Most people, trying to write gratitude, drift into praise by sentence three. If you find "you're amazing" or "you're the best" in your draft, delete it. It weakens everything around it, because it is the one line in the message that could have been sent to anybody.

Edit 4 — say when you noticed. The most powerful clause in a thank-you message is a timestamp on your own attention: I have thought about it every week since. It proves the noticing was not manufactured for the message. Nobody expects that clause, which is exactly why it works.

"People will describe a restaurant in enormous detail and then thank someone in four generic words," says Ganesh, Lovely's founder. "Reverse that and you have written something she keeps for a year."

One last rule: send it on a day with nothing else attached. A thank-you on a birthday competes with the birthday. The same words on a Wednesday cannot be attributed to the calendar, which is the whole reason they work.

When fifty thank-yous do not fit in a text

The problem with gratitude is volume. Once you start listing, you find forty things — and forty things sent as one wall of text read as an event, while forty separate messages read as a crisis.

That is the case for a page. Reasons Why I Love You is ₹49 (about $0.60) and about ten minutes: your reasons dealt as a grid of face-down cards she flips one at a time, with a heart-jar progress bar that fills as each is revealed and a polaroid wall at the end. The format does the pacing for you — one thank-you at a time, at her speed, instead of a wall.

If you want the playful version, reasons i love u is the same price and hides each one under the petal of a daisy she plucks, with a counter keeping score.

For the wider question of what a made-for-her page actually is and what it costs, a personalized website gift for your girlfriend covers the options honestly, and website for my girlfriend is the plain how-to. If you have never sent one before and want the mechanics first — what it costs, how the link behaves on her phone, and the four situations where a page is the wrong idea — send a personalized web page as a gift is the ten-minute walkthrough. One payment, no subscription, and she opens the link in whatever browser is already on her phone — no account, nothing for her to pay.

Frequently asked questions

How do I write a thank-you paragraph for my girlfriend?

Name the specific thing she did, then name what it did to you. "Thank you for being there" is politeness. "Thank you for sitting with me on Thursday and not asking me to explain it, because I had run out of ways to explain it" is a thank-you. The second half — the effect — is the part almost everybody leaves out and the only part that proves you were paying attention.

What is the difference between a thank-you paragraph and a love paragraph?

A love paragraph is about how you feel. A thank-you paragraph is about something she did. Feelings can be doubted; evidence cannot. That is why gratitude tends to land harder than romance with someone who has been quietly carrying things — it tells her the work was seen, not just that she is loved.

Is it weird to send a long thank-you message out of nowhere?

No, and out of nowhere is usually when it means the most. A thank-you attached to a birthday can be discounted as part of the occasion. The same message on an ordinary Wednesday cannot be explained away, which is exactly why it is worth sending on a Wednesday.

What should I thank my girlfriend for that I probably have not?

The invisible work. The remembering, the planning, the emotional forecasting she does before a family visit, the fact that she noticed something was wrong before you said it. Those are the things people are almost never thanked for, because they are only visible when they stop.

Should I say thank you or just do something nice instead?

Both, and say it first. Actions without words leave her guessing whether you noticed or you were just being nice. One specific sentence about what she did costs you nothing and removes the guessing entirely, which is the thing she is actually short of.
